Responsible for designing and optimizing chemical treatment programs for clients in the energy sector. Support of sales and operations groups by means of technical expertise in chemistry.  Field and lab intensive support by evaluating oil and gas field systems for corrosion, emulsions, scale, H2S, frac water, and paraffin control programs.  Tasks include oil & gas well and SWD sampling and analysis, chemical product field screening and testing, and report writing with recommendations.

General field skill sets include understanding downhole and wellhead systems, surface piping systems, separator and treater systems, and SWD systems.

Extensive field | tailgate testing of oil, brine, and gas samples for physical and chemical characterization.Specific skill sets include operation and interpretation of field instrumentation, centrifuge, GC data interpretation, cloud and pour point testing, designing field and lab tests with application of various treatment chemicals and rating effectiveness for client recommendations. Provide professional environmental consulting services by conducting Phase I and II ESAs for industrial facilities, wind energy developers, local, state and federal government entities, law firms, and multiple real estate holding companies.  Numerous projects were in the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) Voluntary Clean-up Program (VCUP) or the Oil and Public Safety (OPS) Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) programs.

I have provided technical support to Walsh’s Engineering & Remediation Department by conducting site and aquifer characterization, preparing Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAP) and Quality Assurance Plans (QAP).  I have also provided technical support to Walsh’s Ecological Restoration Department by conducting wetland monitoring.

Provided professional environmental consulting services (Phase I and Phase II ESAs) to major oil companies, industrial facilities, state and federal government, local and national law firms, and multiple real estate holding companies. 

Responsibilities include project management, budget preparation and tracking, technical report preparation, data evaluation & interpretation, drilling oversight, multiple media sampling, and remedial system design implementation.  Supervised several hydrogeologists and technicians in performing many aspects of the job including; reporting to regulatory agencies, determining the hydrogeologic characteristics of sites, obtaining off-site access permits, and health and safety.

Generated letters and reports to regulatory agencies.  Reports ranged from those that reported the quarterly site corrective action activities as well as those that resulted in No Further Action (NFA) letters from the regulatory agencies.

Supervised contractors and subcontractors in UST removal activities, drilling, well installations, and remediation.

Colorado region health and safety manager.  Prepared and reviewed health and safety plans, trained personnel and led the implementation of a behavior based health and safety program. Responsible for leading the region into the top 25% in Handex’s corporate health and safety program.  

Additional responsibilities include regional project database Power User.  Led the region to Handex’s top position for database management and usage. 

Assisted in marketing new clients for Phase I and Phase II ESAs.

Evaluated soil and groundwater analytical data to determine site-specific hydrogeologic characteristics for contaminant fate and transport modeling.  Developed site-specific remediation objectives to reduce remedial costs without compromising risks of contaminant exposure.

Evaluation of petroleum hydrocarbon impacted sites using a risk-based approach in attempt to obtain NFA status. 

Directly involved with the implementation of a new, rapid-remediation in-situ treatment technology for chlorinated and other hydrocarbon contaminants in groundwater.  This chemical oxidation technology was successfully introduced to Region VIII EPA and the CDPHE as an effective alternative treatment technology for chlorinated compounds, and as a reimbursable treatment technology for the state storage tank reimbursement fund.

Successfully managed a high profile PCB cleanup at a former U.S. Air Force Base facility.
